Regular Meeting of the Land Use & Zoning Advisory Committee for the
Town of Lakewood
September 9, 2002
6:00 p.m.
In attendance: Gigi Bartels, Raoul Schottky, Lee Spletter, Ted Schuurmans, Greg Weyers and Scott Vanlannen.
Chairperson Gigi Bartels called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm.
Ted Schuurmans moved to approve the agenda. Motion seconded by Raoul Schottky.. Motion passed.
Le Spletter moved to accept the meeting minutes from August. Ted Schuurmans seconded to motion, motion passed.
New business:
� Gigi informed the committee that an engineer from the DOT would be meeting with the Town Board tonight.
� Dan Kaye is scheduled for the Town Board meeting tonight. He is available to do building inspections for the Town of Lakewood as an independent contractor. Gigi suggested that the committee recommend hiring Mr. Kaye. Lee voiced a concern that the builders may experience delays getting their jobs inspected due to the shear volume of construction in the area. This discussion was tabled until after the Town Board meeting in order for these issues to be addressed.
� Gigi suggested that a bond be required from the builders to cover potential road damage caused by their heavy equipment. Greg made a motion to recommend that the builders be required to post a bond to cover road damage. Raoul seconded the motion. The motion passed.
� Raoul is scheduled to attend a Towns Association meeting in Wausau to discuss Smart Growth on September 26.
Old business:
� The property that the waste water treatment plant is on is still zoned Agricultural. Ted would talk to Bill Bartz to try to determine the correct zoning for this property. Greg will write a letter to the town recommending the rezone once the proper zoning is determined.
� Ted would also discuss the appropriate zoning for the parcel being purchase from Cliff Marshal by the snowmobile club with Bill Bartz. A clubhouse and garage will be constructed on the site. The land is currently zoned Agricultural.
Ted made a motion to adjourn at 6:52. Greg seconded the motion. Motion passed.
