Regular Meeting of the Land Use & Zoning Advisory Committee for the Town of Lakewood
April 14, 2003

In attendance: Lee Spletter Ted Schuurmans, Adrian (Gigi) Bartels, Scott Vanlaanen, Greg Weyers, Raoul Schottky, and Guests; Tony Kersher Jr and Wendy Kersher.
Meeting was called to order by Adrian Bartels at 6:00 pm.
Motion by Greg Weyers, second by Ted Schuurmans to approve the agenda, motion was carried.
Motion by Ted Schuurmans, second by Greg Weyers to accept the minutes of March meeting with the addition of Adrian Bartels and Scott Vanlaanen as being in attendance, motion was carried.
New Business
� Wendy and T.J. Kersher appeared to have us recommend approval of a conditional use permit for the old Ski Hill Property. The property is zoned General Commercial with a conditional use permit to have races and campers at the present time. They would like to have Country Western and other events, but no Rave Concerts or Hard Rock type of events. After much discussion regarding County Zoning Rules and Sheriff Rules for gatherings, a motion was made by Ted Schuurmans and seconded by Raoul Schottky to recommend approval of the current Conditional Use Permit be amended to hold the events that are listed as per 14.411.2 of Oconto County Zoning. Motion approved.

� A discussion was held by the members regarding the rules and regulation of the county regarding the gathering of people for events held in our Township. A motion was made by Greg Weyers and seconded by Scott Vanlaanen to recommend to the Town Board to have them contact Oconto County regarding the permits and filing for the Large Gathering Ordinance for events in the Towns. Sections 18.e (2) filing period (would like to extend filing period from 120 to 365 days) and section 18.j (6) Parking (would like to see the word FREE removed from the section. The motion was carried.
