Regular Meeting of the
Land Use & Zoning Advisory Committee
for the Town of Lakewood


June 9, 2003
6:00 PM


In attendance: Adriane Bartels, Lee Spletter, Greg Weyers, Ted Schuurmans, Scott Vanlannen, and Raoul Schottky.


Guest(s): Joe Kampf, Gina Kampf, Mike Rzepka, and Don D Bartels

Bartels called meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

Motion by Spletter, second by Weyers to approve the agenda; motion was carried.

Motion by Schuurmans, second by Spletter to accept the minutes of the May meeting as presented; motion was carried.

New Business �
� Joe and Gina Kampf conditional use permit regarding the grading of in excess of 10,000 Sq. Ft. with in 1000 feet of Binder Lake. This is for driveway and construction of a home. This County Rule is not being followed by all builders on Lake Lots. Discussion on this, and a motion by Vanlannen, second by Weyers to recommend the granting of a Conditional Use Permit to grade and move in excess of 10,000 Sq. Ft. of dirt; motion carried. Also have the Town write a letter to the County regarding this rule that it is not being told to the people getting permits and that it should be issued at the time that the other permits are issued.

� CSM presented at last months meeting by Wayne Dobratz for the Archibald Lake Road property was presented and was correct as required. Motion by Schuurmans, second by Weyers to recommend approval; motion carried.

� CSM presented by Lester & Wayne Jefery was reviewed and recommended approval subject to approval of County Rezone approval. Motion was made to do so by Weyers, second by VanLannen and approved.

� James Liptack CSM property on Hwy �F� be recommended contingent on the rezone of property from Forestry to Rural Residency. Motion to do so by Schuurmans, second by Weyers, motion carried.

� Don D. Bartels regarding CSM on subdivision on Golf Course, needs a variance on road, the end of Regan Road (rename it from intersection of Regan, Golf Dr and Regan extension. There will also have to be name changes of other roads in subdivision. This was for our information and will be presented at a later date.

Discussion on the Comprehensive Plan for Lakewood and the making of it Smart Growth compliant.

Adraine Bartels reported on the Lakes Classification Ad Hoc Committee, along with comments by another member Mike Rzepka.

Old Business
Discussion and information on the roadway between the McCauslin Pines (old Jackson Farm) and Brer Patch (Bartels) subdivision.

Discussion on Residential Buildings being changed to Retail Stores/Shops and the additions of buildings, conversion, tying together, and outbuildings of these buildings. Who controls permitting for this and who regulates them? These are not compliant to/with the Towns Comprehensive Plan.

Motion by Schuurmans to adjourn, second by Schottky; motion carried.
