Minutes of the Regular Meeting of The Town of Lakewood Plan Commission Town of Lakewood May 8, 2006
In attendance: Adriane Bartels, Scott VanLaanen, Ted Schuurmans, Greg Weyers, Raoul Schottky, and Lee Spletter. Excused: - Guests: Pat & Joan Grady, Don Jackson, Eugene Dunsirn
1. Call to Order: Chairperson Greg Weyers called the meeting order at 6:00 pm
2. Approval of Agenda: Motion to approve the agenda with the following additions; 5.b Payment of bill for copies of Storm Water Management Plan CD�s, and 7b. Procedures of filling out forms used by Secretary. Motion by Scott VanLaanen, seconded by Ted Schuurmans, motion passed. 3. Approve Minutes of Prior Meeting: Raoul Schottky moved to accept the minutes of the April 10, 2005 meeting with the following changes; Item 2 over 10,00 sq.ft. to 10,000 sq. ft., seconded by Ted Schuurmans, motion passed. 4. Rezone, Conditional Use & CSM/Plat Proposals: No proposals presented to Commission.
5. All New Business Authorized by Law: 5a. Ditches on Emily Road and Twin Pine Road were discussed. The new parking lot that is blacktopped is 1.6 acres. WDNR is interested in what is going on at this site and Ted will give information that they request about this project. Questions asked by Committee; was Town asked about doing this project as to if permits or what ditching requirements are required (Tom or Jack). Was the County Zoning asked about project? What about setback of parking lot from roadway? Plan Commission recommends that storm ditches be replaced around parking area to meet standards set forth in Storm Water Management Plan and any future project like this to check with Town and County as to what can be done. Motion by Raoul Schottky, second by Scott VanLaanen to make this recommendation to the Town, motion passed. 5b. Discussion on payment of bill for the copies of the CD�s of the Storm Water Management Plan and it was discuss at the last meeting to get these and the Town would pay for them. Motion by Ted Schuurmans to recommend that the Town approve payment of the bill for $200.00, second by Greg Weyers, motion carried.
6. All Old Business Authorized by Law: 6a. Discussion on Raoul Schottky position on Committee. The Committee recommended that he be reappointed until he leaves the area and then he be replace at that time. Motion by Ted Schuurmans, second by Adriane Bartels, motion carried. Raoul abstained. There was some discussion as to who could replace him and Marline Sauriol should be one person considered possibly, as she was an active member before. 6b. Discussion on the update of the Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Lakewood was held. There will be three meetings regarding the County Grant for the Comprehensive Plans for the county coming up on May 10 at Mountain, May 11 at Town of How, and May15 in Oconto. We should try to attend these meeting to express our thoughts and opinions on this funding, as we are ready to get started on the updating of our plan. 7. All Other Business Authorized by Law: 7a.i. Gage Street agreement has been signed and Chairman Gryboski stated that the State will be doing the construction of the Gage Street extension.
7.a.ii. Paul Bunyan Tavern property has been cleaned up and filled in. Oconto County said that the parts remaining from the old structure were O.K. and could be reused if they wanted to us them. Owners cleaned up on their own. Waubee Lodge is still in the process of applying for permits to rebuild on the old site. Tom Wurzer also needs to apply for a Use Permit for a Business in the Old Flynn Gas Station property. 7.b. An outline as to how to apply to get on the Monthly Agenda of the Plan Commission will be presented at the next meeting. 7.c. Discussion on the Small Lakes Ordinance for the Town of Lakewood was discussed and changes that need to be made, 200� frontage, 2 Acre lots, etc. Tabled until June 12th Meeting by Ted Schuurmans, second by Adriane Bartels
8. Adjourn: Adriane Bartels made a motion to adjourn the meeting second by Ted Schuurmans, motion carried at 7:20 PM.
