SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELECTORS
PURPOSE; AMBULANCE PURCHASE
JULY 10, 2006
8:25 P.M.
LAKEWOOD TOWN HALL

This meeting was posted in the three usual places those being the Lakewood Town Hall, Lakewood Super Valu and the Timberwood Bank as well as being published for two weeks prior to tonight�s' meeting.

PRESENT: Tom Gryboski, Chairman. Don Bartels Jr. and Lee Spletter Supervisors. Virginia Nelson, Treasurer. Joanne Roy, Clerk

VISITORS: Don Jackson, Ted Schuuermans, Jan Liebech, Betty Sellhausen, Peter Liptack, Pat Grady, Joan Grady, Raoul Schottky, Gene Dunsirn, Bob Gartzke, Bob Raasch (L/T Ambulance), Larry Sandoval (Forest Ranger), Greg Weyers, and Jerry Hebson. (Some of the attendee�s may have left before this meeting began.)

Chairman Gryboski called this meeting to order at 8:25 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is the presentation of plans for the purchase of a new ambulance and approval of funding or denial.

Bob Raasch, Community Ambulance president stated that they would like to purchase a new ambulance with the cost to each Town being $35,000. The break down is as follows:
New Ambulance Cost: $114,000.00
Use of existing Cot: -3,000.00
Resale of existing Ambulance: -20,000.00
Ambulance Service Contribution: -21,000.00
Net Amount due from Towns: 70,000.00 / by 2 = $35,000.00 from Lakewood & Townsend

They would be retiring the Freight Liner ambulance. The reason for asking for the ambulance now is due to new engines coming out which will reduce gas usage and increase the price of a new ambulance.

A Bridge Aid check from the County was received should just about cover the cost of the Lakewood�s share of the ambulance. This money was not budgeted for use this year, voter's can approve the funds be designated to the purchase of a new ambulance.

Motion by Jan Liebech to purchase and fund a new ambulance at a cost of $35,000.00, seconded by Don Jackson, all ayes motion carried.

Bob Raasch stated that for informational purposed they would be looking at replacement of an ambulance every 7 years.


Motion to adjourn by Raoul, seconded by Ted, all ayes motion carried, adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
