REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 10, 2007 7:30 P.M. LAKEWOOD TOWN HALL This meeting was posted in the three usual places those being the Lakewood Town Hall, Lakewood Super Valu and the Laona Bank. PRESENT: Tom Gryboski, Chairman, Lee Spletter, Supervisor, Tom Haberstein, supervisor, Denise Jackett, Clerk, and Virginia Nelson, Treasurer. VISITORS: Roger Enderby, Don Jackson, Lisa Bath, Robert Landwehr, Gene Dunsirn, Richard Liebl, Ted Schuurmans, Jan Liebsch, Bob Raasch, Bill Thomas, April Exferd. Chairman Gryboski called this meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.. Tom Gryboski asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Tom Haberstein moved to accept the agenda, second by Lee Spletter, all ayes motion carried . Motion by Tom H. to accept the minutes of the August 13, 2007 meeting. Lisa Bath made comment to correction of Public comment, should state Townsend Lakewood Ambulance. Tom Haberstein moved to accept the minutes with correction, second by Lee , all ayes motion carried. Treasurer�s Report: Given by Virginia Nelson and summarized in these minutes. Checking Account Beginning Balance: $ 76,697.85 Receipts: $475,113.32 Total in Checking $551,811.17 Less Expenses: $ 322,991.20 Balance in Checking $ 228,819.97 Cemetery Account: $500.00 Tax Account: $183,864.81 Omitted Tax Account: $114,234.41 Storm Water Account: $ 81,333.97 Motion to approve the Treasurer�s report by Tom H., seconded by Lee S., all ayes motion carried. Plan Commission: 1. Lee Spletter presented report. Plan Commission recommends the town issue a letter to the county requesting their Land Shark Program. Tom G. added letter to be issued. Capitol Improvements Committee: Tom H. gave report. A meeting will be held on September 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Request was made for the Town Board to be present. Road Ordinance: Lee S. presented and read the revised ordinance. Motion by Lee S. to except the ordinance, second by Tom H. ayes motion carried. Provisional Alcohol License Ordinance: Discussion of Ordinance was held. Motion by Tom H. to accept an Ordinance to issue Provisional Alcohol License, second by Lee S. all ayes motion carried. Lee made motion for recess to write the ordinance, second by Tom H. all ayes motion carried. Lee moved for meeting to be brought back from closed session to regular session. Second by Tom H., all ayes motion carried. Denise read the new ordinance. Motion by Tom H. to accept the Provisional Alcohol License Ordinance No. 2-2007. Second by Tom G. , all ayes motion carried. Special meeting will be held on Wednesday September 12, 2007 at to issue 10:00 to issue a Provisional License for Waubee Lodge LLC. Town Hall Fees: Tom G. stated there have been concerns of Organizations having to pay rental of Town hall/pavilion. The Organizations need to present there case to the Town Board at a Town Meeting prior to the event and the Board will decide if there shall be no charges. Denise did express that she does not want to determine who pays rental. Board, Clerk, Assessor comments; correspondence: Denise presented correspondence she had received. Tom spoke of quote from Maiden Lake Plumbing to update the facilities at Town Hall. Vouchers: Motion was made by Lee S. to approve, seconded by Tom H., all ayes motion carried. Public Comment: Denise read a correspondence from Townsend Lakewood Ambulance. Bob Raasch added comment. Lisa Bath presented issues that she is concerned with pertaining to the Townsend-Lakewood Ambulance, EMT certification process and her present certification acceptance. Bob Raasch had rebuttal. Lee added comment. A special meeting will be set up for further discussion. Lee will set this up with representatives from Townsend Town Board and the Ambulance service. Town Employee Heath Insurance is at a stand still until the employees return the information that was requested. Blacktopping of roads on list for next year. Assisted Living is still going to happen, just delayed. Cross walks will be installed on each end of the parking lot, ready before busy season of 2008.
